how it works
every challenge works the same way.
pick one that fits you. entries run $10–$60, and every entry goes into the prize pool.
reach your daily step goal every day of the challenge. steps come straight from apple health.
everyone who makes it to the end gets their entry back plus an equal share of what the others left behind.

official steppix challenges you can join today. numbers are live.
est. = an estimate, not a promise: it assumes a typical share of entrants finish (from past challenges like it) and the pool as it stands now.
the money, plainly
a real example: 100 people join a $20 challenge. 70 hit their goal every day. 30 miss a day.
whether you finish is decided by one thing: whether you walk. steppix never plays against you, and every finisher gets the same share.
fair play
everyone in a pool is trusting everyone else. so we check.
formats
hit the goal every day. finishers split the pool.
miss a day, you're out. last ones walking split it.
you vs one friend. whoever keeps hitting it takes it.
only steps inside a time window count, like 6–9 AM.
invite-only challenges with your group chat.
invite friends
when 3 friends you invite each join their first paid challenge, you get $10 of entry credit. it's credit for entries, not cash.

no. steppix is a skill-based fitness contest. you decide whether you finish by walking. there are no odds, no random draws and no house to play against: steppix never takes the other side, and every finisher gets the same share. steppix makes its money from the service fee, not from the pool.
paid challenges are open to people 18 and over (older in some states) who are physically located in the US when they join and when they cash out. free challenges are open to everyone. contest law varies, so check the eligibility page.
everyone's entry goes into the prize pool. if you hit your goal every day, you get your entry back plus an equal share of the entries left behind by people who missed a day. the whole pool goes to finishers: steppix takes nothing out of it. if everybody finishes, everybody just gets their entry back.
a service fee of 10% + $0.30 per entry is added on top at checkout. it never comes out of the prize pool. that's the only thing steppix charges for a challenge: the whole pool goes to finishers. cash-outs: standard · 1–3 business days · free; instant · fee shown before you confirm.
everyone gets their entry back in full. the only exception: players disqualified for cheating get nothing back.
steps count once they sync from apple health. each day stays open until 10:00 a.m. the next morning, your time, so a walk you did last night still counts if it syncs by then. opening steppix once a day keeps you safe. after that the day closes and it's final.
yes. official challenges need 10 entrants, community challenges 5 and private challenges 2. if a challenge is short when it starts, it's cancelled and everyone gets a full refund, service fee included.
yes. steps from your iphone and apple watch both come through apple health, and we count each minute once, so wearing both never double-counts. steps typed into the health app by hand and steps from other apps don't count.
steppix reads step count and walking distance from apple health (read only) and pedometer data from motion & fitness, only to run your challenges and catch cheating. it's never used for advertising, never sold and never shared with data brokers.
you can cash out any time your balance is at least $25. standard · 1–3 business days · free; instant · fee shown before you confirm. your first cash-out needs a one-time identity check. limits: $500 per 24 hours and $2,000 per 7 days.
in the app: settings → delete account. cash out any balance first (the minimum is waived when you close) and let active challenges finish. can't get into the app? request deletion on the web and we'll verify it's you.
you need to be 18 or older to join paid challenges (19 in Alabama; 21 in Arizona, Iowa, Louisiana and Massachusetts). anyone 13 or older can use free challenges.
yes. if you miss a day, your entry stays in the pool and goes to the people who finished, and the service fee isn't refunded once a challenge starts. only enter what you're comfortable leaving behind, and never think of steppix as a way to make money.
no. steppix+ gives you more room: 5 active challenges instead of 1, creating your own challenges, a verified badge, rank protection, deep stats and themes. it never changes fees, prize pools or payouts. pricing is shown in the app.
join a challenge, hit your goal every day, and split the pool with everyone who finishes.
